Indemini Festival 2020 - CANCELLED

We are facing an extraordinary situation at local, national, and international levels and we are following the advice of the Government and Public Health of Switzerland, the Comune di Gambarogno, and Cantone di Ticino. The safety of our guests, colleagues, and community is our top priority. To our great sadness, our 5th Anniversary Indemini Festival will not sound through the Alps and Vale Veddasca this summer. We are looking at other possibilities in the coming months, and will share them as we can.            We look very forward to summer 2021 in Indemini. Music is the language of peace, love, and healing.    May we all meet again even stronger in the next year. Stay safe!  Thank you for being part of the Indemini Festival family. Please consider supporting the work of Indemini Festival!

Welcome to Indemini Festival, our intensive training and masterclass-based program for performing artists located in the breathtaking mountains above Lago Maggiore in the Veddasca Valley in Switzerland, at the border of northern Italy.

The focus of our course is on personal and professional development:

Master Classes, Voice Lessons, Musical coaching, and the unique VoiceRelease Massage combine with concerts and

performing opportunities in outstanding venues in the Valley and Lago Maggiore area.

Indemini is an 8th century traditional Ticinese slate village, hanging over the valley. It has been a smuggler’s nest between Italy and Switzerland for centuries, and had a new influx of artists in the early 60’s. It is a magic place, unlike anywhere in the world.

Festival & daily rountine

Indemini Festival musicians come from all around the world. The masterclasses, lessons, coachings, and body work (VRM) give students the opportunity to have close contact with internationally-renowned musicians on a daily basis and provide a safe haven to develop and grow in a beautiful place.

The concerts that take place during the two weeks of the program help prepare the musicians for their future professional lives and enrich the cultural panorama of Valle Veddasca and the region of Ticino.

Indemini Festival started in 2016 and is an important touristic event for the region. For this reason, cantonal and city authorities support our work every year. We receive support, both volunteer work and financial contributions, from the tourist offices in the region and friends of the festival.

Our teachers, all of whom have impeccable international reputations as pedagogues and musicians, join together for our two-week full-immersion course in singing, opera, song, solo, and chamber music interpretation. The participants and the atmosphere of both serious study and playfulness, lead to startling artistic growth and demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of our efforts.

Concerts & Events

During the Festival, concerts and events take place in Indemini and at other beautiful locations around the region, creating a cultural exchange between Switzerland, Italy, and our international participants.

We see these concerts as an opportunity to explore and celebrate the daily work we are doing in practice while contributing to the community at large.

These personal and cultural interactions inspired by the Indemini Festival contribute to the communal life of what has now become our home, as well as influencing and enhancing the lives of our participants. We believe in building world community through music and art.

Greetings and Thanks from the General Artistic Director

Indemini Festival has become an integral part of the cultural life in Valle Veddasca, Gambarogno, Lago Maggiore and in the Ticino landscape. I am very happy that Indemini Festival, in its 5th year,  with its growing effects has won an important place in our region as an internationally recognised festival and is known worldwide as a meeting place for high quality masterclasses, concerts, and as a place to learn and grow.

Our sincere thanks to all collaborators and supporters: authorities, companies and associations, public and private sponsors that allow us to look ahead with confidence.
Our sincere thanks to all teachers, students, who enrich and enliven Indemini and the area by participating in the festival.
